I drew this Grizzly Bear after watching a documentary on the work of Timothy Treadwell. Treadwell was born in 1957 he was an environmentalist and had a life’s passion for the grizzly bears of Alaska. He founded the organisation Grizzly People to help to protect these magnificent creatures and educated children about the bears, by visiting schools after his summers spent in Alaska.
Timothy Treadwell spent 13 summers in Alaska, living in a tent, studying and watching the bears of Katmai National Park. On the 13th summer in October 2003 he and his girlfriend Amie Huguenard were killed by what is to be believed, a 28 year old brown bear.
Werner Herzog made the documentary in 2005 to celebrate Timothy’s work and inform people of his life.
